Potrero Hill, oil on panel, 8x16 inches SF/LA: Joe Ceballos

JOE CEBALLOS was born and raised in Los Angeles, where he was inspired by the resurgence of realist art being created by illustrators and artists working in the film industry. After earning his BFA at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to work in visual effects, digitally creating realistic environments and concept designs for numerous feature films, commercials and interactive media projects. He is now a lead concept artist working on applications of new technologies and interactive experiences. Just as his love of fine art has helped inform his work in film and media, his experience in the entertainment industry has influenced his paintings. In recent years he has been included in a number of juried exhibitions, and his work has been widely published. He is a signature member of the Oil Painters of America and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences: Visual Effects Branch.
